Video Enhancer: Sharpen and Upscale Any Clip
VEME is a video enhancer that upscales a soft clip to 4K, restores lost detail, removes noise, corrects color, and exports a sharp file ready to publish. On VEME you pick a scene preset, choose an upscale factor from 1x to 4x, and Topaz models work through the clip frame by frame so detail comes back without the motion starting to flicker.

Four kinds of rough footage, before and after
The enhancer has a scene preset for each common problem. These pairs show what each one targets; they are illustrative frames, not exported results.
Before
AfterBring back detail in a low-res clip
For footage shot small or stretched too far. The model rebuilds edges and fine texture as it scales, instead of only enlarging soft pixels.
Before
AfterClean up grain from a dark scene
Phone cameras push the sensor at night and leave colored noise in the shadows. Denoise smooths that out while keeping faces and firelight readable.
Before
AfterFix banding in animation and CG
Flat colors and gradients show compression badly. The Anime & CG preset is tuned for line art and rendered surfaces, so outlines stay clean.
Before
AfterRestore an old home video
Digitized tapes come with tape noise and soft focus. The Film preset is meant for that kind of source, and you can add back a little film grain if a clean result looks too modern.
Not sure which preset fits? Start with Auto and compare. Upload a clip to test it.
Settings in the video enhancer
These are the controls the current Upscale Video panel shows. Everything except the video itself is optional.
Upscale factor. 1x enhances without resizing; higher values enlarge more.
Frame interpolation, or keep the original frame rate.
Auto, Low quality, Denoise, Anime & CG, Film and Premium.
Denoise, Fix compression, Reduce halo, Film grain, Recover detail and H.264 output.
Each preset names the Topaz model it runs on. Open the settings panel.
How to use the video enhancer
Three steps, and you see the credit cost for the run before you press the button.
Upload the video
Upload one MP4, MOV or WebM file up to 500 MB, or choose one from your history. Apply settings to the selected video.
Pick a preset and scale
Choose the scene preset that matches the footage, set the upscale factor, and decide whether to raise the frame rate. Open Advanced only if you want finer control.
Compare and download
When the status reads Done, open the result to play the before and after side by side, then download the enhanced file.
What each upscale factor does to resolution
The factor multiplies the source height and width, so the output size depends on what you start with. Common starting points:
| Source | 2x | 3x | 4x |
|---|---|---|---|
| 480p (854×480) | 960p | 1440p | 1920p |
| 720p (1280×720) | 1440p | 2160p (4K UHD) | 2880p |
| 1080p (1920×1080) | 2160p (4K UHD) | 3240p | 4320p |
Highlighted cells show where each source first reaches 4K UHD, or for 480p, the most it can reach. A video enhancer can only rebuild so much from a very small file, so a cleaner source gives a better result at any factor. You can also set 1x to clean a clip without making it bigger.
Who uses a video enhancer
Most people reach for it when a clip is right in content but wrong in quality.

Social content editors
Old exports and reposted clips look soft on a phone. Upscale them, clean the compression, and post the sharper version the same day.

Ecommerce managers
Supplier clips often arrive compressed. Restore the texture on the product and upscale it so it holds up on a large product page.

Course creators
Lesson recordings from a basic camera carry grain and a low frame rate. Denoise them so finger positions stay readable, and interpolate to 60fps for smoother playback.
What to know before you enhance
A few limits worth checking first.
- You need to log in. Upscale Video runs from your VEME account, and finished files are kept under My videos.
- Each run uses credits. The panel shows the cost for this run before you start, and it changes with your settings. See the pricing page for plans.
- 4x is the ceiling. The upscale factor tops out at 4x, so a very small source will not reach 4K in one pass.
- The model guesses lost detail. It cannot recover text or faces that were never in the frame. If you need a longer clip rather than a sharper one, try Extend Video.
Video Enhancer FAQ
What does a video enhancer actually do?
It rebuilds detail in each frame, reduces noise and compression artifacts, and can increase resolution and frame rate. VEME's version uses Topaz models and keeps frames consistent so the result does not flicker.
How much can I upscale a video?
You can set any factor from 1x to 4x. A 1080p clip at 2x reaches 2160p, which is 4K UHD.
Can it fix grain and compression blocks?
Yes. Use the Denoise or Low quality preset, or open Advanced and adjust Denoise, Fix compression and Reduce halo yourself.
Will it smooth out choppy motion?
Frame interpolation can raise playback to 30 or 60fps. Leave it on Original if you want to keep the source frame rate.
Is this video enhancer free?
Generation uses credits. Sign in and check the cost shown in the tool before running it; account offers and plan details are shown on the pricing page.
Which files can I upload?
MP4, MOV and WebM, up to 500 MB per file. Select one video at a time.
