Voiceover Generator: Turn a Script Into Narration

VEME's voiceover generator reads your script out loud in the voice you choose. Paste the text, pick a voice, adjust how fast and how expressive it should sound, and export a clear narration track for a video, a lesson, or a product demo—without recording anything yourself. Text to speech still powers the read; the voiceover generator is where you shape tone, pacing, and the finished audio.

  • Your text, typed or pasted into the Text box
  • A voice from the built-in library or from My Voices
  • Speed, volume and expressiveness to shape the readoptional

Generation uses credits. Sign in and check the cost shown in the tool before running it; account offers and plan details are shown on the pricing page.

Shaping the read

Voice settings in the voiceover generator

After you pick a voice, these settings in the voiceover generator decide how it delivers your lines. Leave them at the defaults for a first try, then change one at a time until the narration matches the pace of your video.

Speed

Runs from 0.5x to 2x, starting at 1.00x. Slow it down for tutorials and speed it up for short social clips.

Volume

Moves the level from -50 dB to +50 dB relative to the generated audio. 0 dB leaves it unchanged.

Expressiveness

A slider from Consistent to Expressive. Lower values keep an even, steady tone, and higher values add more variation.

Diversity

Goes from Focused to Varied, which changes how much each take differs from the last.

Generation mode

Choose Best quality, Balanced or Lowest latency, depending on whether you want the cleanest read or the fastest one.

Normalize loudness

Turn it on to keep the volume even across the track, so quiet and loud lines sit closer together.

A quiet dental clinic reception desk with a desk phone, an orchid and a blank appointment tablet

Phone menus and announcements

Write the greeting and menu options once and turn them into clear audio for your phone line or front desk . When opening hours change, edit the text and create a new version instead of recording again.

Writing for the ear

How to write a script that reads well aloud

The tool reads exactly what you give it. Text written for the screen often sounds stiff out loud, so a few small edits make a big difference before you hit create.

Reads well
  • Short sentences with one idea each.
  • Commas and full stops where you want the voice to breathe.
  • Numbers, dates and units written the way you'd say them.
  • A new paragraph wherever the topic changes.
Trips the voice up
  • Long sentences packed with brackets and side notes.
  • Abbreviations the listener might not know how to say.
  • Lists of symbols, links or code.
  • Made-up product names with no hint of how to say them.

The Normalize text switch helps here, since it prepares things like numbers before the voice reads them. Read the result back and adjust any word that still sounds off.

Step by step

How to use the VEME voiceover generator

2

Pick a voice

Search the Built-in voices in the voiceover generator, or open My Voices to use one you've cloned on VEME.

Adjust the settings

Set speed, volume and expressiveness, choose a generation mode, and switch on Normalize loudness or Normalize text if you need them.

4

Your own voice

Use a cloned voice for narration

If you want every video to sound like you, clone your voice first with VEME Voice Clone. It needs a clear speech sample of at least 10 seconds. Once it's ready, the voice shows up under My Voices in Create Voiceover, and you can use it on any script. Some voice settings are only available for the built-in voices.

FAQ

Voiceover generator FAQ

Is the VEME voiceover generator free?

Generation uses credits. Sign in and check the cost shown in the tool before running it; account offers and plan details are shown on the pricing page.

How long can my script be?

The panel accepts up to 10,000 characters per request. For long pieces, splitting the script into sections makes it easier to fix one part without redoing the rest.

Can I make the narration sound less robotic?

Write short, natural sentences, raise Expressiveness a little, and pick Best quality in Generation mode . Then listen back and rewrite any line that still sounds flat.

Can I use my own voice?

Yes. Clone it with Voice Clone, then pick it from My Voices when you create a voiceover.

How do I add the track to a video?

Download the audio and place it on your video timeline. Short narration for channels that never show a face works the same way. To make a face in a video match the speech, see VEME Lip-Sync.

Give your script a voice

Paste your text, pick a voice, and listen to the narration in a few clicks.
