How Smart Shot works
Three stages, and you can stop and adjust at the second one before anything renders.
Upload and describe
Add a character image if you have one, then write the scene: who is in it, where it happens and how it should feel. Use @ in the prompt to point at a specific reference.
Preview and refine
Select Generate Shot Plan. The planner returns a storyboard and a shot list you can edit, regenerate or trim, as long as two or more shots remain.
Generate the video
When the storyboard looks right, turn it into the final Smart Shot clip. Switch Voice on if you want sound with the shots.
Camera moves the planner can assign
You don't need to know film terms to get them. Describe the scene and Smart Shot picks the camera language for each beat; name a move in your prompt if you want a specific one.

Shows the whole place first, good for an opening or a change of location.
02 Pan
Turns across a scene to reveal something new without cutting.
03 Push in
Moves toward the subject to build focus, often just before a reveal.
04 Dolly
Travels with the subject, so movement in the scene feels physical.

Circles a person or product, which works well for a hero moment in an ad.
06 Close-up
Fills the frame with a face or detail to carry emotion or show texture.
Keep one character across every cut
Drifting faces are the most common reason a multi-shot plan falls apart, so Smart Shot is built to hold identity while the scene around it changes.
- Upload up to seven reference images in JPEG, PNG or WEBP, each up to 10 MB.
- One clear photo is enough to start. A few angles of the same person improve consistency.
- Well-lit photos with the face visible give the best results.
- Change the outfit, location or situation in your prompt and the identity stays the same.

Smart Shot fits anyone who needs a clip with real shot structure and can't book a crew for every idea.
Performance marketers
Product ads need a clear hook, detail and payoff. Let the planner put an orbit on the headphones, a push in on the ear cushion and a wide closing shot, then test several versions against each other.
Social content producers
Posting short stories several times a week leaves no room for reshoots. Set the scene once in 9:16 and keep the same camera style across a whole series.
Pre-production directors
Previs has to show the camera plan before a budget is approved. Draft the storyboard, lock the shot order, and hand stakeholders a moving sequence instead of static panels.
What to know before you plan
A few limits of Smart Shot, so your first storyboard turns into the clip you expect.
- It is built to end in video. The storyboard is a planning step inside Smart Shot. If you only need printable panels, a static storyboard tool may suit you better.
- Each clip is short. One generation runs from 3 to 15 seconds. For a longer piece, generate several scenes or lengthen one with Extend Video.
- Video renders use credits. Generating a shot plan may also use credits, so check your balance before you start. You can start for free; see the pricing page for plan amounts.
- Photo quality matters. Blurry, dark or heavily filtered references make consistency harder. Use clear photos of the same person.
